Honoring Our Leaders: Black History Salute 2014
Quite often, we forget as business owners this privilege didn’t exist. . With the great tragedy of slavery surrounding our ancestors imperfect journey to America, this generation can do some awesome things with the change in the legislation for equal rights. So much so, that from the time that our ancestors arrived to the times of the Civil Rights Movement, many fought and gave their lives, so that young women and men, like you and I could start and maintain and enterprise which creates jobs and helps build the economy. I say this to state, that we all have come from somewhere and history has taught us that hard work 
and sacrifice do pay off.
I am sharing this post to salute the members of my heritage who opened doors for me. Not just to follow my dreams but to catch them! As a business owner it was on the shoulders of my mother and father that I stood and they on theirs, so that my children will also have this great freedom and independence, to accomplish more than their grandparents and parents have. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and others before him, gave their lives so that the content of our character would matter more than the color of our skin. Although racism hasn’t totally gone away, there are still many great opportunities in the world today, that couldn’t have come about without the sacrifice of our early leaders.
We owe it to ourselves to take the opportunities granted us and make the very best of each one, by planning ahead and presenting the best approach and marketing design we can.
